Remove my 2-factor authentication device
Description

Even though you can't disable the 2FA requirement for your Sage account, you can remove the current device that you use for it. This is useful, for example, if:

  • You'd like to move to the Sage Verify mobile app
  • You want to authenticate using an authenticator app instead of SMS text
  • You want to authenticate using SMS text instead of a phone call
  • You need to set up 2FA on a new phone
  • You need to authenticate using a different phone number
  • You're resetting 2FA as part of troubleshooting 2FA issues

Once you remove your current device you can set up a new one, for example a different option such as the Sage Verify app.

Resolution
  1. Log in to Account Management at account.sso.sage.com.

    NOTE:

If you can't access your current 2FA device to log in, use your recovery key. If you don't have a recovery key, use your backup method to remove your 2FA device.

  2. Select Protect your account.
  3. Select the option to remove the relevant device.
  4. Sign in and authenticate again to verify your identity and complete the process.

    NOTE:

If you signed in with a recovery key, use the new recovery key to authenticate.

  5. You'll return to the Manage your account screen. A banner will appear notifying you that you've turned off 2FA for your account. You'll also receive an email confirming the removal of 2FA.
  6. You can now set up 2FA again.
