I can't log in to the Sage HR app
Description

If you can't log in to the Sage HR mobile app, this can be due the following reasons:

  • You haven't set up your access from your welcome email
  • You're using the wrong email address
  • You're entering an incorrect password
  • The company you're trying to access doesn't use Sage HR - They may use Sage Employee Online Services instead
  • Your profile has been terminated or deleted by an admin user
  • Your login access has been disabled by an admin user
  • You've entered the wrong workspace 

To help us figure out why you can't log in, let's run through some checks in the section below.

Check you don't use Sage Employee Online Services

Two different Sage online payslips portals exist:

  • Sage HR Online Services
  • Sage Employee Online Services

You can only log in to companies on the Sage HR app that use Sage HR Online Services. If your company uses Sage Employee Online Services, you can't access this company on the Sage HR app, only the Sage Employee Online Services website.

 TIP: Your welcome email tells you if you're using Sage Employee Online Services and any payslip notifications for that company direct you to log in at www.sagepayrollservices.co.uk. 

Once you're sure that your company definitely uses Sage HR Online Services, move on to the next check.


Try to log in to Sage HR web portal

The Sage HR mobile app is there to allow you to log in to Sage HR Online Services and view your payslips on a mobile phone. As well as this app, you can log in via sage.hr/signin.

Are you able to successfully log in to your employer's Sage HR company via the Sage HR website?

Yes

Okay, let's move on to the next check.

No

If you're unable to log in via sage.hr/signin either, this indicates the issue is regarding your actual login. Please run through our login troubleshooting guide for Sage HR Online Services.


Check you've entered the correct email address

Please check you have typed in your email correctly and it's exactly the same as what you entered when you successfully logged in via sage.hr/signin. Check that you haven't entered a space at the end of the email address.

 TIP: If you're unsure what email address you should be using, it is the one your welcome invite was sent to. Alternatively, contact your employer who can confirm what email address they have used to set you up.

If the email address has definitely been entered correctly, please move on to the next check.


Check your workspace URL

When you enter your email address and tap Next, do you see a Workspace field?

No, it just asks for a password

In that case, move on to the next check.

Yes

If you're able to log in via sage.hr/signin, but not the Sage HR app, it could be that the Workspace you've entered is incorrect. This is the bit before .sage.hr in your company's unique workspace URL. This is required if your email address is registered for more than one company on Sage HR.

Check you've entered the correct password

Please check you have typed in your password correctly. If your password has auto-populated, please enter your password manually. It is possible your phone has saved an incorrect password.


Still can't log in?

If you've run through all the checks above, and you still can't log in on the mobile app, you must contact your employer. They can investigate this for you as they have access to contact Sage support directly. Please let them know whether you can or can't log in on the website version of Sage HR Online Services, as they will be asked this.
