Import your data
TIP: Close any program, for example Excel, used to create your CSV/XLS file before you import. This prevents upload errors.
- On the menu bar, go to File then select Import.
- If required, select Backup to back up your data, then once complete, select Next.
CAUTION: You can't reverse an import. Instead you must restore the backup you took before the import. - In the Data type window, select the type of data to import, then select Next.
- In the Data source window, select the format of the data you're importing.
- If the first row of your data contains headings, select the First row contains headings checkbox.
- Click Browse, locate and select the file to import, then click Open.
- If your import file contains multiple worksheets, choose the required worksheet from the drop-down list.
- Click Next. Link imported data to Sage 50 Accounts fields by completing the Imported Field column as required. Select the relevant field from the drop-down list. Compulsory fields display an asterisk.
- If required, you can use the Load Map and Save Map options. This imports the default or previously saved maps
- Once you've mapped all the required fields, click Next.
- Check the summary information is correct, then click Import or Finish.
If the import is successful, a list of transactions imported appears in the Record Imported pane. Click Close.
Correct any import errors
If the Data Import wizard detects issues, for example, invalid formats, no data imports. An import error message indicates the problem.
