Upgrading an existing installation?If you are seeing this message when installing an update to your Sage 50 Accounts program, click here > Restart the data services Restarting the Sage Accounts Data and Control services usually resolves this message. For more information please refer to our Stop and restart the Sage Data and Control Services article. After restarting the services, try the installation again. If the message still appears then continue to the steps below.
Check your system informationIf your system information is blank, this can cause error 1603. For help with this, follow the Check the Windows System Information app section of our Error - Sage Accounts hangs or closes on the opening splash window guide.
Log into Windows as a user with full administrator privileges - Press and hold the Windows key and press R.
- In the Open box, type Control Panel then click OK.
- From the View by drop-down list select Large icons.
- Click User Accounts, then Manage User Accounts.
If Administrators display in the Group column for your user name, it means you have administrative privileges. If you don't have administrator access, ask your network administrator or IT support to give you administrator privileges. If the issue persists, check for windows for any updates. You can Download your software from My Sage manually and install using the downloaded file.
