HMRC online filing error codes
Description

When you file online returns you may receive a failed status and a message from HMRC's servers. HMRC's servers generate these error codes and they displayed in Sage Taxation. In most cases we will be able to advise you on the best course of action, however there may be times when we need to refer you to HMRC's online services help desk on 0300 200 3600.

HMRC code 3000

You'll see this error if something prevents the submission of the return, and the messaging system between the calling application and HMRC's servers has broken down, or is temporarily unavailable. The processing of the document has failed and you need to re-submit.

  1. Check that the computer you are filing from has Internet access and that a firewall is not blocking access to the Internet for Sage Control Centre.
  2. Re-submit the return.

You may have to wait for up to one hour before you re-submit.
