The Chase Debt module
Description

Use the Chase Debt module to help keep on top of what your customers owe you.  

 NOTE: The Chase Debt option is available in Sage 50 Accounts Standard and Professional. To upgrade to use this feature, submit your details and we'll be in touch.

Access Chase debt

  • Go to Customers then select the Chase debt option

Options in the Chase debt window

The due in x day(s) box

This option appears at the top of the customer list.

This setting affects how the Overdue figures are calculated. If you enter a number in this box, the Overdue column includes invoices that will become overdue within the number of days you specify.

Filter drop-down

This option appears at the top of the Customer list next to the Filter icon.

All All customers.
Custom Presents the Search window so you can enter your own search criteria.
Outstanding Customers that have an outstanding balance.
Overdue Customers that have an overdue balance.

 TIP: Entering a number in the 'Include invoices due within the next X day(s)' field adds invoices due within that timeframe to the column.

Promised

Customers that have promised a payment. Find out more about promised payments in our Customers Credit Control article.

Disputes Customers that have disputed items.
On hold Customers that you flag as On Hold.
Unallocated Customers that have outstanding SA or SC transactions.
Over credit limit Customers whose balance exceeds their credit limit.

 TIP: All the customers appear in red.

1 month old*

Customers whose oldest outstanding invoice falls within the specified ageing period.

2 months old*

Customers whose oldest outstanding invoice falls within the specified ageing period.

3 months old*

Customers whose oldest outstanding invoice falls within the specified ageing period.

Over 3 months old*

Customers whose oldest outstanding invoice is older than the specified ageing period.

*If you select Period Ageing in Settings then Customer Defaults Ageing, the months are replaced with ageing periods.

 TIP: To see the exact criteria that each option applies, select the required option then click Filter. This opens the Filter window.


Overdue column

The software checks the current program date then adds on the number of days entered in the Include invoices due within the next x day(s) box.

The overdue column displays the total value of all invoices that are overdue on this date.

▼ How the Invoice due date is calculated

Invoice date + number of days entered in the Payment Due Days box in the Credit Control tab of the Customer Record. 


Follow up column

This shows the customer's next follow-up date. This is the earliest date that appears in the Communications tab of the Customer Record.

  TIP: For the latest follow up date to appear, delete the communications with the earlier follow-up dates.
