Steps to take if you notice duplicate transactions in Sage Sole Trader.
In Sage Sole Trader, your bank feed transactions appear in Draft transactions, ready for you to categorise.
Duplicates can appear for several reasons:
- You have a connected bank feed, but you've also imported transactions manually from a bank statement
- You disconnected your bank, then reconnected it using the same transaction start date
- You've recorded transactions manually that your bank feed has already pulled through
- You've used Receipt Capture to enter transactions that have also come in through your bank feed
- There's an issue with your bank feed connection
How to prevent duplicates
To avoid duplicates, use one method to record each transaction. For example, if your bank feed pulls transactions in automatically, don't also enter them manually or through Receipt Capture.
How to handle duplicate transactions
The easiest way to handle duplicates is to delete them from Draft transactions before you categorise them.
- From Transactions, select Draft.
- Find the duplicate transaction and select Actions.
- Select Delete.
- In the pop-up window, select Delete transaction to confirm.
CAUTION:
You can't recover a transaction once you've deleted it.
If you've already categorised the duplicate, you can still delete it from Completed transactions.
For the steps, see Delete transactions.
NOTE:
If duplicates keep appearing, there may be an issue with your bank feed connection. Contact us so we can investigate or raise it with your bank provider.
