Important updates to Sage Accounting from July 2025

Sage Copilot

Available in all Sage Accounting tiers 

From July, Start and Standard Accounting subscriptions will include access to Sage Copilot, your new AI assistant, joining Plus tier customers who already benefit from this feature.

Sage Copilot is your AI-powered assistant, working 24/7 to help you do more with less effort. Sage Copilot identifies mistakes, patterns, and opportunities in your data, enabling you to act smarter and faster. 

With Copilot by your side, crafting professional emails with invoices and statements is a breeze. Stay ahead with proactive insights on tax regulations, profitability, overdue payments, and customer activity. 

For Accounting Standard and Plus tiers additional users can be added for £20 per user per month.

AI-captured receipts and invoices

Available in Sage Accounting Standard and Plus 

Save time on admin, just upload or email receipts and invoices, and our AI accurately reads dates, totals and tax amounts automatically, so you don’t have to. Plus, you can snap photos of receipts on the go, ensuring nothing goes missing.

Tap to Pay on mobile 

Available in all tiers with a Stripe account enabled.

Take payments in person, on the go, via your phone. No dedicated POS hardware required. Every payment made via Tap to Pay is automatically matched against the invoice, eliminating all admin so your accounts stay up to date in real time. 

  • Get paid instantly 
    Customers can pay instantly at the point of service using the Sage Accounting app. Simply create an invoice and the customer can pay by tapping their card or enabled device to your phone. 
  • Eliminates admin and saves time
    Since payments made by customers are automatically matched to the invoice within Sage, all manual matching of transactions is eliminated - the invoice is marked as paid and reconciled. 
  • Easy to use and fully compliant
    With an intuitive layout and steps that involve only a few clicks for business owners. Sage partners with Stripe to deliver fully compliant and secure payment processing. 

Take payments anywhere, anytime, no extra hardware needed 
With Tap to Pay in the Sage Accounting app, you can accept in-person payments using just your phone. There’s no need for a separate card reader — just tap and go. 

Get paid on the spot 
Create an invoice, hand over your phone, and your customer can pay instantly by tapping their card or digital wallet. It’s fast, seamless, and built into the tools you already use. 

No admin, no hassle 
Every Tap to Pay transaction is automatically matched to the correct invoice in Sage. That means no manual reconciliation — your accounts stay accurate and up to date, effortlessly. 

Simple, secure, and compliant 
Tap to Pay is easy to use and powered by Stripe, ensuring every payment is processed securely and in line with compliance standards. Just a few taps, and you’re good to go. 

More ways to get paid 

Available in all tiers with Stripe account enabled.

Now available across all tiers (Stripe account required), you can offer your customers even more flexibility with Apple Pay and Google Pay payment on invoices, as well as credit and debit card options. Let them pay the way they prefer - fewer barriers at checkout mean faster payments landing in your bank and a better experience for your customers. 

Smarter bank feeds and transaction matching  

Enjoy more accurate bank feeds with enhanced matching rules. Less time reconciling, and more confidence that your books are always correct. 

Customer plan changes

The updates to Sage Accounting will be rolled out in a phased approach starting from 1 March 2025.
