Before you start

If you haven't already, set up your bank feed.

NOTE:

You can't create a bank feeds rule for foreign bank accounts.

Set up a Bank Feeds rule

  1. Download and match your bank feed transactions.
  2. Go to the Confirmed tab, and select the transaction you want to create a rule for.

  4. Enter a new name for the rule.

The 'create rule' window with the Rule name field highlighted.
  5. Tick one or more conditions to identify future transactions to automate:
  • The Reference shows against the transactions from your bank
  • If the Amount can vary, don't include the amount as a condition

Condition(s) window with a list of Fields to select.

  1. In the Transaction details section, specify the information you want the rule to post on the transaction.
  2. In the Auto posting section, choose whether to review transactions before posting or to post them automatically.

You've now set up a Bank feeds rule.

NOTE:

The new rules only apply to bank feeds downloaded after they're created, they aren't retrospective.
