This article will guide you through the update process for Sage Taxation (PT).

NOTE: If you are on versions prior to v23 please contact your dedicated accountant support team on 01914795999 to start your upgrade journey.
Due to some essential security updates to Sage services, we recommend you install the latest software update as soon as possible. Very soon you will no longer be able to access your Sage Taxation software if it remains on an older version.
We're making these changes in line with industry standard security protocols, to protect you, our clients, customers and provide long term sustainability of the software. To find out more about the security updates to Sage services, read our information guide.

To Update:
Network install> To update Sage Taxation
- Download the required version of Sage Taxation from above.
- Ensure all users are logged out of Sage Taxation across the network.
- Once downloaded, run the downloaded file.
- Follow the on-screen prompts.
Once the server update has completed
- Double-click Sage Compliance option from a workstation.
- You'll be prompted to update your installation. To run the update, click Yes.
Repeat this process on each workstation that has an installation of Sage Taxation.
NOTE: You won't be able to access Sage Taxation until you've completed the workstation update.
Further steps
If the installation hasn't been successful you may wish to try the following before contacting Sage Technical Support:
- Make sure the Windows firewall is configured
- Temporarily disable any antivirus software or third party firewall
- Temporarily disabling User Account Control (UAC)
- Logging in as the administrator account
Please remember to re-enable your firewall and antivirus software once the installation or update is complete.
Workstation Install> - Open up the Windows Start Menu, to do this, right-click the Windows option in the bottom left corner of your display and click Search.
- In the search bar enter \\ and the name of your server.
- A Windows Explorer window will appear with a number of shared folders. Please select the folder named SuiteWorkstationInstaller.
- Double-click ClientSetup.exe.
After installation, the Sage Compliance Menu appears and your client data from your server is accessible from this workstation.
