Before you begin

Always connect via Remote Desktop (RDP), not an admin console like Hyper-V, to avoid profile-based installs.

To connect remotely:

  1. Open Start, search for Remote Desktop, and launch it.
  2. Enter the server name and sign in with your normal credentials.

Install Sage Taxation on a terminal server

  1. Connect to the terminal server via RDP using an administrator account.
  2. Run the Sage Taxation installation file on the server where Microsoft SQL is installed or intended.
  3. Follow on-screen prompts to check prerequisites.
  4. Accept the licence agreement and click Next.
  5. Review Microsoft SQL status:
    • If SQL exists: Select the available SQL instance.
    • If SQL missing: Choose to install SQL Server Express and select the destination drive.
  6. Click Next, review settings, then click Install.
  7. If prompted, reboot and restart the installation.
  8. Choose the installation drive for Sage Taxation program files.

Install program files on a different server

  1. Connect remotely to the additional server using administrator credentials.
  2. Navigate to \\[servername]\SuiteWorkstationInstaller.
  3. Run ClientSetup.exe, then follow the installation wizard.

NOTE:

Installing without RDP access causes program files to install to a user profile, restricting access for terminal users.
