Set up what appears on customer and supplier statements in Sage Accounting. This helps you control the content, layout, and delivery of your statements.
Description
Statement settings control what your customer and supplier statements include. You can choose the statement type, highlight overdue balances, control ageing information, and decide how to handle future dated payments.
Update these settings before running statements to ensure they reflect your business needs.
Resolution
- Select Settings, then Business settings.
- Select Statement settings.
- In Customer Statement Type, choose All activity or Outstanding items only.
- In Supplier Statement Type, choose All activity or Outstanding items only.
- In the Customer statement delivery method, choose how you want to send statements.
- If you choose email, Sage Accounting sends the statement to the main contact’s email address
- If no email exists, Sage creates a PDF for you to download and send manually
- Select Show days overdue and label overdue invoices in red to display overdue days on statements.
- Select Show a table of balances owed by age to include an ageing summary.
- Select Indicate overdue accounts to flag overdue customers.
- Under Future dated payments, choose one option:
- Select Include future dated payments to exclude invoices paid after the statement date
- Select Exclude future dated payments to show all items outstanding on the statement date, even if paid later
- Enter any additional information in Customer statement notes, for example bank details or payment instructions.
- Select Save.
Your updated settings apply to future statement runs.
