Summary

Step 1 of migrating from Sage 50 to Sage Accounting.

Description

Before migrating you need to decide on the date to migrate your data, and complete the tasks outlined here to make sure your data is up to date.

Resolution

Choose a migration date

We recommend choosing a start date that is the start of a new month or quarter depending on how often you submit your VAT Return.

Complete these tasks

  1. Enter all transactions up to the last day you want to use Sage 50 or Instant.
  2. Complete a VAT Return for the last month or quarter you want to use Sage 50 or Instant.
  3. Make sure you have your most recent bank statement to hand.

Print reports

Print the following reports from Sage 50 or Instant, so you can check your data after completing the migration. Make sure you run the reports up to the date you migrate.

  • Trial Balance
  • Aged Debtors Analysis (Detailed)

Customers > Reports > Aged Debtors > Aged Debtors Analysis (Detailed) > Print

Change the To date to the last day you will be using Sage 50 or Instant. Do not select the checkboxes

  • Aged Creditors Analysis (Detailed)

Suppliers > Reports > Aged Creditors > Aged Creditors Analysis (Detailed) > Print
