Summary
Review the activity on a bank account in Sage Accounting, including how to filter, sort, print, and export transactions.
Resolution
To view the bank record, go to Banking then select the required bank account.
From here you can:
- Amend the bank details. To do this, enter the relevant details then select Save
- Amend the Default Transaction Method. Choose the correct option on the dropdown and select Save
- Record the transactions coming in and out of your bank account
- Reconcile your bank account. Read how in our introduction to bank reconciliation guide
- Connect Sage Accounting to your bank
- Import your bank statement
If you have foreign bank accounts, you can also:
- Toggle between currencies when reviewing bank account activity
- Revaluate bank accounts, showing gains and losses
Bank activity including printing and exporting
The Activity tab shows transactions posted to this bank account. You can:
- Search for transactions by reference or value
- View transactions between a specified date range
- Select Filters to view certain transaction types by choosing the relevant option from the Type dropdown list
- View or edit details of receipts and payments. To do this select the relevant receipt or payment
- View if the transactions appear cleared or reconciled
You can use the Action Toolbar to print, email or export the bank transaction list. You can also use the Action Toolbar to delete a transaction.

- Select the checkbox next to the required transaction.
- Select the option that you want to use:
- CSV
- Delete
View bank activity in chronological order
When viewing your bank activity, it’s sometimes useful to have it arranged chronologically.
To put your bank account activity in date order, select the Date column heading at the top of the transaction list on the Activity tab. This will display the oldest transactions first. Select the heading again to reverse this order.
