How to resolve this error, which can appear when trying to integrate with Microsoft Outlook in Sage 50 Accounts v28 or above.

Resolution
Check your version of Microsoft 365
- Use Microsoft's site to check you Microsoft Office version, to ensure it's compatible. For more information on which versions are compatible, use our compatibility checker.
Create a new signature in Outlook
For help with creating a signature, refer to this Microsoft help article.
Once you've created the signature, you can apply it to your layout in your program:
- In Sage 50 Accounts, go to Settings, then select Email Defaults.
- Confirm your Email Program shows as Microsoft Office Outlook.
- Select the tab for the layout type you wish to apply a new signature to. For example, Invoice.
- Select the drop-down menu next to Override Default Outlook Signature and select the new signature you have created.
- Repeat step 4 for any other layout types. For example, Statements.
- Press Apply, then select the checkbox for the layouts you wish to apply these settings to.
- Press OK.
Download the SBDDesktop.exe.config file
- Press this button to download the SBDDesktop.exe.config file:

- Browse to where the file saved, then right-click on the SBDDesktop.exe.config file, then select Copy.
- In Sage 50 Accounts, log in to your company, then go to Help then select About.
- Under Program Details, select the Program Directory folder path.
The file explorer window opens, showing the program directory folder. - Within the file explorer window, right-click, then select Paste to paste the downloaded file into the program folder.
- Close the file explorer window, then close and re-open Sage 50 Accounts.
