How to record a refund from your supplier

This guide explains how to record a refund using the Supplier refund option in Sage 50cloud Accounts.


It's quick and easy to record a refund from your supplier, let's take a look at the steps below. 


  1. Click Bank accounts.
  2. Click the bank account you want to receive the money in to.
  3. On the tool bar, click Supplier refund.
  4. Complete the boxes as required:
    • Make sure the correct Bank A/C Ref is selected
    • Enter the relevant date - by default it enter today's date
    • Select the relevant Payer i.e. the supplier the refund is from
    • If necessary, enter a Cheque No.
    • Enter the refund amount either in the box in the top right or against a credit note you want to refund.

  5. Once the boxes have been completed, click Save.
  6. If you have not allocated the refund to a purchase credit the following message will appear:
    'There is an unallocated refund of [insert amount] do you want to post an unallocated refund?'
  7. Click Yes.
