How to restore the reports and layouts only backups in Sage 50 Accounts.

Description

When you install Sage 50 Accounts, backup files with standard reports and layouts also install. Restore these reports to refresh defaults without overwriting data or customised documents.

Resolution

You can restore the backups from this directory:

  • v33 and above - C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\VXX\DataRestores

Where VXX is the relevant version, for example, v33.

  • v32.1 and below - C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\XXXX\DataRestores

Where XXXX is the relevant version, for example, v32 is 2026.

Restore the backup file

  1. In Sage Accounts, take an all files backup.
  2. On the menu bar in Sage Accounts, go to File then Restore.
  3. Select Browse, then browse to the DataRestores folder in the location above.
  4. Select the backup file then click Open.
  5. Click OK then click Yes.
  6. Click OK, enter your logon name and password, then click OK.
