ERROR: 'ERROR IM014 Microsoft ODBC Driver Manager...' when running reports

How to resolve this error when running reports in Sage 50 Accounts.

When running reports, the following Report Designer message can appear:

'Report Designer was unable to generate the report.
ERROR [IM014] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and the Application.'

This happens when the 32-bit ODBC driver is missing or has been renamed to something other than SageLine50vXX. Where XX is the software version number.  

Create a new ODBC driver

If it's not possible to rename the 32-bit ODBC driver, create a new ODBC driver within the ODBCAD32 administrative tool:

1. Close Sage 50 Accounts.
2. Press the Windows key + R, then:
   • 32-bit operating system - Enter odbcad32 then press OK
   • 64-bit operating system - Select Browse and browse to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe and press Open then OK
3. Select the System DSN tab, then select Add.
4. In the list of drivers, select Sage Line 50 v29 then press Finish.
5. In Data Source Name, enter SageLine50v29 
6. In Data Path, enter c:\programdata\sage\accounts\2023\company.000\accdata
7. Press OK then OK.

If the issue persists

1. Reinstall the ODBC driver for your version of Sage 50 Accounts.
