Sage Provisioning Portal for Sage Developers: Usage, Parameters & Developer Copies

Summary

This article details the usage of Sage 200 Standard sites for members of the Sage Developer Programme.

Description

Entitlement to test environments for our online products, is subject to you being a member of the Developer Programme.

For Sage 200 Standard, this would either be Mid Market or Universal Developer.

If you cancel your membership, your online product access will be terminated.

Access to demo copies is granted with certain usage limits and parameters, details are below:

Resolution

Sage 200 Standard
  1. Active development of Sage 200 Standard applications.
  2. Be a member of the Mid Market or Universal Developer Programme.
  3. Attend the relevant Sage University courses to understand the deployment
    NOTE: The course title is 'Sage 200 - Getting Started'
  4. Sites not used within 90 days will be suspended, no further contact in 30 days the site will be deleted in line with our product terms.
  5. Developer test and demonstration sites are subject to a monthly subscription at a discounted rate. No more than one site is permitted per product variant e.g. Standard and Education. Please refer to our pricing calculator for more information.
  6. Partner Online Administrator must have a registered business email address as its login. Failure to hold a valid email address as your online admin will result in the site being suspended until this is corrected.
  7. Partner Online Administrator is responsible for adding new users and removing those who no longer require access. Each user of your demo site & partner site access is to have a valid business email address, yopmail and mailinator account access will be suspended without notice.   8. Your sort code & account number are required to create the site.
  9. Developers, who are not an accredited Business Partner should not deploy customers sites, in doing so we will remove your access from the portal completely.
Sage 200 Professional (via Sage Partner Cloud Program)
  1. Active development of Sage 200 Professional for customers provisioned via the Sage Provisioning Portal.
  2. Be a member of the Mid Market or Universal Developer Programme.
  3. Attend the relevant Sage University courses to understand the deployment - '200UK – Sage Partner Cloud'.
  4. Obtain their own Azure subscription to connect to the Provisioning portal for the purposes of testing their application with Azure environments and Azure SQL. In addition the testing should result in production of documentation to outline product compatibility.
  5. Developer test sites must be authorised by the Partner Enablement Team prior to creation. Please contact [email protected] to arrange.
  6. Developer test and demonstration sites for Sage Partner Cloud are currently provided free of charge in terms of the Sage 200 Professional Licence, you will be charged hosting fees from your CSP.
  7. No more than one site is permitted per product variant e.g. Standard, Education and Professional.
  8. The naming structure the site should be 'DEMO [developer name] Professional SPC'.
  9. Developers are responsible for ensuring that they have the relevant licencing for all additional components e.g. Windows, AVD and/or Office components.
  10. Sage 200 Professional via Sage Provisioning Portal: Licence entitlement
    1. All available modules can be selected
    2. Companies: 999 available (data charges from Microsoft apply)
    3. Desktop and connected users will be determined by the number of individuals you have accredited for '200UK – Sage Partner Cloud'.
    4. At our discretion we may increase the users following a conversation with our Partner Enablement team.

  13. Your bank sort code & account number are required to create the site.
  14. Developers, who are not an accredited Business Partner should not deploy customers sites, in doing so we will remove your access from the portal and your demonstration site will be removed.
  15. Partners should only hold logins as a ‘partner type’ user. They should not create ‘customer type’ users.*


  16. Ensure your users only have access to the partner roles required, choices available are; Partner Administrator, Partner Operations Agent , Partner Support Agent. 
  17. Ensure prompt removal of individuals who have changed role within the partner organisation, or who have left.
  18. Ensure that the site administrator conducts regularly site audits.
  19. Ensure that the necessary internal processes for site access, audits and user removal are in place.

* You may create an email alias as a customer (e.g. [email protected] to use with your Sage 200 Professional via the Sage Provisioning Portal. This is the only circumstance in which this is acceptable.

NOTE: Where a partner is a developer & a partner only 1 site can be enabled.

Sage 200 Developer Copies - Setup Process

If you are a member of the Sage Partner program and already have access to the Sage Provisioning Portal, you will be able to set up your test site yourself.

  • Please obtain your authorisation and follow the guidance in the relevant section above.
  • In the case of Standard and Education, you will be able to select the demo rate plan as part of your set up.
  • In the case of Sage 200 Professional, once the site is active you will need to contact [email protected] to change your billing entitlement.

If you are not a member of the Sage Partner Program, please contact [email protected] who will arrange for a partner account to be set up for you within the portal. You will then be able to follow the steps above.

In all cases, developers are not permitted to set up additional sites or use this to distribute to customers.

CAUTION: We will not retrospective correct your billing if you do not set your rate plan correctly, or in the case of Sage 200 Professional you do not notify us of the billing entitlement change. In the case of billing entitlement changes we require a minimum of 2 working days’ notice prior to the end of the month.   

Technical Support / Developer services are unable to setup & provision demo / test sites for you, but once set up we can help with any maintenance or parameter questions, subject to our usual support boundaries.

If you are developing via the API and are not a member of the developer programme, we are happy to set up an environment for you to use, however as storage is required, this is subject to our monthly hosting charge.
