The minimum contributions that you and your employees pay into your pension scheme last increased on 6 April 2019.
You can use the Sage 50 Payroll Pensions Module to check your schemes are up to date automatically.
When you process the first period of the new tax year, your software prompts you to update the percentages.
This message appears when you select any of the following options:
When you select one of these options, the phasing wizard appears. Complete the wizard and verify your pension schemes are compliant to be able to continue and process your payroll.
The following symbols appear next to the pension schemes to provide more information:
![]() | A blue triangle with an exclamation mark means your software changed the scheme to meet legal minimums. |
![]() | A red triangle with an exclamation mark means your software can't check the scheme. For example, it's a fixed rate scheme. |
![]() | A green tick means the scheme already meets the minimum contributions, so there are no changes required. |
You've completed the phasing wizard, and can process your payroll as normal.
