How to check if you use Remote Data Access (RDA) to connect to your Sage 50 Accounts data.

Description

Use RDA to access your live Sage 50 Accounts data from anywhere using the internet. You can check if you've set up RDA in your existing company data in a few different ways.

Status bar

  1. Log on to your company to check the Remote Data Access indicator on the status bar at the bottom.
  • If it states 'Online', you have set up RDA and you can access your data remotely
  • The software won't display this indicator if you haven't set up RDA on this company

Help About window

  1. On the menu bar, go to Help then select About.
  2. Under Features Enabled, check that Remote Data Access shows as Yes.

    'Yes' means that you've set up RDA.
  3. To check further details, go to the Remote Data Access Information section in the middle column.
  • Company ID - A unique ID for your company. Displays with or without RDA set up
  • Dataset ID - each site has this ID to check all use the same company data. Displays 'N/A' if you've not set up RDA
  • Last Communication at - The last time the company data synced.  Displays 'N/A' if you've not set up RDA
  • Site (Sage 50 Accounts v27) - if you're at a main or remote site

Company selection window

If you've set up RDA, a 'Remote Data Access' column appears in the Company Selection window when you open the software.

This shows either 'Online' or 'Offline' next to your company. If it's blank, you've not set up RDA.

TIP:

In Sage 50 Accounts v27, this is also where you can check if you're at a main or remote site.
