Resetting data to restore a backup

Description

Sometimes, you want to discard your data and restore a backup or start from scratch after upgrading your software from an earlier incompatible version.

Resolution

  1. Open Sage Accounts.
  2. In the Select Company window, select the required company then click Open Folder Location.
NOTE: If the Logon screen appears, instead of the Select Company window, click Cancel then browse to C:\Programdata\Sage\Accounts and rename the file sage.ini to sage.old then start again from step 1.
  3. Rename the folder ACCDATA to ACCDATAOLD and create a new folder called ACCDATA in its place.
  4. Return to the Select Company window, select the required company and click OK.
  5. To restore a backup, select Restore data from a backup file and click Browse, then select the backup you want to restore and click Open.

TIP: If you want to create a new company, instead select Set-up a new company and click Next, then follow the on-screen instructions.

  1. Click Next then click Restore.
IMPORTANT: When you restore a backup of your data to a different location or computer and use connected services, you'll see a Manage Cloud Connection window in v30.1 and above. Click here for more important information about this >
