Error Emailing layouts - 'SBDDesktop.exe has stopped working' or Sage closes

Summary

When you run a report or layout to email in Sage Accounts, the message 'SBDDesktop.exe has stopped working' may appear.

Resolution

If you are using v23.1 or below, or if you experience this issue in v23.2 and above, you need to install an update, then check your email settings.


Download the update
  1. Click the download link below:
  2. Double-click the downloaded file, then click Run.

Refresh Quick Email settings

If the error appears when using the Quick Email option, you must refresh your layouts:

  1. Click Settings then click Invoice & Order Defaults.
  2. Click the Email tab.
  3. For each document type, browse to the required layout.
  4. Click OK.
  5. If the issue still occurs, reboot your computer and run your report or layout again.


Check your email settings
  1. Preview any of the reports or layouts where you have this problem.
  2. Click Printer Offsets then click Email Setup.
  3. In the Default Provider drop-down list, click Microsoft Outlook.
  4. Select the Where MAPI is specified in the report, use the default provider instead check box.
  5. Click OK, then close the Preview window.

Check your email defaults
  1. In Sage Accounts click Settings then click Email Defaults.
  2. From the Email Program drop down list, select Microsoft Office Outlook.
  3. Click Apply then select the layouts you send by email.
  4. Click OK then click OK.
