Cost of Net Payments on payslip

Created on  | Last modified on

Summary

This guide explains why the description Cost of Net Payments may appear on your payslips in Sage 50 Payroll.

Description

When you set up and process a net payment as part of an employee's pay, a new line appears on the employee's payslip with the description Cost of Net Payments.

Resolution

When you process with a net payment your software adds the cost of net payments line to the payslip.

Image

You can't remove this line when you're processing with a net payment.

The Cost of Net Payments line displays the amount of tax and, if applicable, the amount of NI that you're paying for the employee's net payments. This value is included in the gross pay for tax value and, if applicable, the employee's earnings for NI.

NOTE: If an employee's only payment is paid net, you must process this with the net to gross function and not with a net pay element. Find out more in our guide covering how to set up and process a net to gross payment >
