To place a customer account on hold

Summary

If a customer needs to be placed on hold, for example if they're in liquidation or have exceeded their credit limit, it's easy to do this in Sage Accounts.

Resolution

Apply a hold to a single customer record

  1. On the navigation bar click Customers then double-click the required customer record.
  2. Click the Credit Control tab and click the Account status drop-down and click a status with an On Hold status.
For more details about the account status settings, read more >
  3. Click Save.

If an account is on hold, depending upon the on hold status applied, transactions can still be posted to the account providing you click OK when the warning message appears.
