Report Designer - Printer offsets

Created on  | Last modified on

Summary

Within Sage Report Designer you can enter a printer offset specific to your selected printer. Using this option you can adjust the output to ensure that your document prints correctly on a particular printer. You'll need a ruler to measure how far you need to move the print which in most cases is less than 10mm.

Description

Printer offsets are perfect to help align your design to your pre-printed stationery. If you get a new printer then a small alignment may be needed to match your new printer driver.

TIP: Sometimes it is easier to set all the values to Zero, then print off a new copy and add offsets based on that new print off.

  1. Select the document you wish to edit, then click Preview.
  2. Preview the report or layout you want to amend, then click Printer Offsets.

  3. Amend the Report-specific offsets as follows:

To move the printing upDecrease the top offset. |Use the keyboard to enter the value you want to use, or use the arrow buttons to change the value.
To move the printing downIncrease the top offset. Use the keyboard to enter the value you want to use, or use the arrow buttons to change the value.
To move the printing to the rightIncrease the left offset. Use the keyboard to enter the value you want to use, or use the arrow buttons to change the value.
To move the printing to the leftDecrease the left offset. Use the keyboard to enter the value you want to use, or use the arrow buttons to change the value.

NOTE: We recommend only altering the Report specific options to control the current alignment task.
