The Compress Data option

Created on  | Last modified on

Summary

How to compress your data in Sage 50 Accounts.

Description

When you delete records in your software, this doesn't reduce the size of the data files. To do this, after deleting records we recommend you compress the relevant area. Compressing files is also part of maintenance of your data.

Resolution

Compress your data:

  1. Before you start, back up your data.
  2. On the menu bar, go to File then Maintenance and select Compress Data.
  3. Clear the Compress All Data Files check box.
  4. Clear the check boxes against the data files you don't want to compress. For example, to compress the customer records only, clear all the check boxes except Sales Ledger.
  5. Click Compress then OK when the data compression has completed.
  6. Close both windows.

  You've now compressed your data.
