How do I export data?

Summary

How to export data from Sage 50 Accounts.

Description

If you need to export specific data, such as transactions or customer records, you can use the Export option to do this.

Let's take a look.

Resolution

How to export data

  1. Open the required module, for example Customers.
  2. Click Reports and select the relevant folder, for example Customer details.
  3. Select the required report, for example, Customer Record CSV.
  4. Click Export and browse to the location to save the file.
  5. Enter a relevant File name.
  6. From the Save as type drop-down list, select CSV Files (*.csv)
  7. Click Save then enter the required criteria.
  8. Click OK.

You can amend the exported file and import the data back into Sage 50 Accounts or another program. You can use our How do I import data? guide to do this.

NOTE: Transaction records and records with new references create new entries in your accounts. If a record with the same reference already exists, that record updates if you make changes. If not, only editing a transaction record creates a duplicate. For more information, please refer to our Data fields you can import guide.
