Download and install Sage 50 Payroll v28.05

If you're upgrading from v28.02 or below, the best version for you is v28.05.

Before you install

To ensure your software update installs smoothly, there are some steps that we recommend you complete. Find out how to prepare to update your software.

If you've already completed these steps, proceed to the next section.

Download and install v28.05

During installation, your computer may need to restart. This occurs when your computer requires updates to C++, which your payroll software uses.

TIP: You'll need to use the Run as administrator option to install.

1. Click Help, then About.
2. Note the Program Directory.
3. Close Sage 50 Payroll.
4. Save your work in any other programs on your computer, and close those programs.
   NOTE: You may be prompted to restart your computer while you install the update.
5. Click the link below:
• Download Sage 50 Payroll v28.05.026
  TIP: If you're prompted to Run or Save the installation file, click Save.
6. To begin the installation, locate and right-click Sage50Payroll_2805026.exe, then click Run as administrator.
   TIP: You may be prompted to enter your admin password, if you aren't sure of this you'll need to speak to your IT support.
7. After reading the information, click Accept Licence then click Next.
8. Check the path is the same as the program directory you noted earlier, then click Yes.
   • If the path isn't the same, click No then Yes then browse to the program directory you noted, double click Payroll.exe.
     NOTE: Your computer may restart now due to C++ updates. Once this completes, return to step 6 to update your payroll software.
     
9. When the installation completes click OK, then click Close.
10. If you have Sage 50 Payroll installed on more than one computer, repeat these steps on each one.

You've now installed your Sage 50 Payroll update.
