Troubleshoot speed issues with letters
Description

When you run a letter to preview, there can be a delay to generate or the following error message appears:

'The report could not be generated. No data was returned for this Report.'

Before you start

Ensure the software isn't running in compatibility mode:
  1. Right-click the software icon on your desktop and select Properties.
  2. Select the Compatibility tab and deselect the Run this program in compatibility mode for: checkbox if selected.
Run this program in compatibility mode highlighted in the Properties tab.

If the issue persists

▼ Check Restrict mailing isn't set

If you're sending letters, check that the Restrict mailing settings on your customer or supplier records.

  • Open the required customer or supplier record, click Credit Control, then clear the Restrict mailing checkbox

▼ Configure your credit control layout settings

Ensure you configure the default credit control letters for Statements, Reminder Letters, Warning Letters and Legal Threat Letters.

  1. Go to Settings then select Configuration.
  2. Select the Credit Control tab.
  3. For each layout type, select Browse to choose the required layout, then click Open.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Run the layout again for one record.
