The JRS viewer reads data from the jrsdata.db file. When you calculated a claim in the JRS module and clicked the Finish button at the end, your software added the claim to this file. Claim submission If you didn't select Finish at the end of calculating a claim, your software didn't add it to the jrsdata.db database. If you had a partially completed claim underway but not finished, your software cached the most recent details you entered. This is typically available in the viewer. This means if you didn't click finish on any claims, the only claim in the viewer is any cached partially completed claim. Continue to the check the jrsdata.db file exists section if you're certain you selected the Finish button when you calculated your claims. Check the jrsdata.db file exists If your JRS viewer is blank, check that your jrsdata.db file is in place: - In Sage 50 Payroll, go to Help then About.
- Note the COMPANY_XXX number in the Data directory path.
- Click the link beneath the Settings directory heading.
- Double-click the COMPANY_XXX folder you noted in Step 2.
- Double-click the JRS folder.
- Check if there's a JRSData.db file.
If the file is there but the viewer is blank, there are no finished claims available for you to view. If the file isn't there, there's no JRS data for the viewer to display for this company. You can only access JRS claims that you finished if you have a backup that includes JRS Files. Follow the steps below to restore JRS files from a backup, without affecting your current processing data. - Back up your data.
- Select File then Restore.
- Select Next to move on to the list of file types.
- Deselect Data Files.
- Select JRS Files.
CAUTION: It's essential that you select JRS Files only at this point, to keep your processing data up to date. - Select Next then Browse.
- Browse to your backup, then select Open.
- Select Next then Finish.
- When your software prompts you, enter your username and password to complete the restore.
You've now restored JRS data from your backup. Check the JRS viewer to see if your claims are now available to view. If the viewer remains blank and you have other backups to try restoring, repeat Steps 1 to 9 on the next backup. Failing this, follow the check permissions section below.
