The latest update for Sage 50 Payroll is v30.02.080, which is now available as a background update.

You can only install this background update if your current version is v30.02.076. Follow this guide to check your version, and where required, update your software.

 NOTE: If you need to reinstall Sage 50 Payroll as part of troubleshooting, you can't use the background update. Instead, download and install Sage 50 Payroll v30.02.076, which is the most recent full installer. 

If you have background updates enabled, your software may have already installed the latest version automatically.

To check your current version and find out what to do next, follow the steps below:

1. Log in to your software as normal.
2. Select Help then About.
3. Under the Program Details heading, note your Version Number. If this is:
   • 30.02.080, your software is already on the latest version and you don't need to install any other updates
   • 30.02.076, continue to the install the update section below to install the background update
   • 30.01.283 or earlier, follow the download and install Sage 50 Payroll guide to install 30.02.076, then follow the install the update section below

Install the update

There's no installation wizard with a background update. When you run the update it updates your software in the background, so allow the installer a minute or so to run.

1. Close Sage 50 Payroll.
2. Click the download link below:
   • Download the v30.02.080 background update
3. Locate and right-click the downloaded file Sage50Payroll_BU_300280.exe, then click Run as administrator.
4. Wait a minute or so to allow the update to complete.

You've now updated your software, and can use it as normal.
