The Employee Wizard
Description

Use the Employee Wizard to create records for your employees. Enter their personal details, tax code, national insurance (NI) number and year to date information, all in one place.

Cause
Resolution

The Employee Wizard

  1. Click Employee, then click Employee Wizard.
  2. Click Next and enter the employee's name and address.
  3. Click Next and enter the employee's personal details.
  4. Click Next and enter the employee's employment details.
  5. On the Right to work checks list, click the relevant option.
  6. If you've switched from other payroll software you need to check the RTI Payroll ID is correct. 
     NOTE: For help with doing this, follow the how to handle RTI IDs when changing software providers article. 
  7. Click None, existing employee.
  8. If relevant, select the Is your employee in the Government's Welfare To Work programme? check box.
  9. Ensure the employee's tax code is correct. Use our English and Northern Irish Tax codes, bands and rates or Scottish tax codes, bands and rates guides to check.
  10. Enter the employee's NI number and category, then click Next.
  11. Continue through the rest of the wizard, completing the relevant information.
  12. Click Finish and repeat the above steps for each employee.
