Understanding the Aged Debtors report
Description

What is the Aged Debtors report?

The Aged Debtors report lists all outstanding customer invoices and unallocated customer transactions, such as payments on account. It shows how much each customer owes and categorises these amounts by how long they have been overdue. This helps you see who owes you money and how much.

By understanding who owes money and for how long, you can collect overdue payments. It also helps in planning and financial forecasting.

Breakdown of outstanding amounts

To provide better visibility for businesses using VAT Cash Accounting, the report includes separate columns for:

  • Outstanding Net - The original invoice before VAT.
  • Outstanding VAT - The VAT portion of the invoice.
  • Total outstanding - The full amount due, including VAT.

NOTE: This is unavailable for CIS-registered businesses. This is coming soon.

Understanding ageing periods

Ageing periods break down unpaid invoices into different time categories. You can view the report by days or by calendar month.

This breakdown helps you quickly identify which invoices need immediate attention. Regularly reviewing these reports helps you stay on top of your receivables and means you can address any issues with late payments promptly.

To change your ageing periods:
