When running the report, ensure you run it from month 1 of your financial year up to the last month you processed in TASBooks and select Opening Balances.
Click Maintain Accounting Period Dates. This is option 021.
Export your records
If you have a lot of customers, suppliers, products and services in TASBooks you might want to export them so you can save time when setting up Sage 50 Accounts. Read more >
To export your contact details
Export your contacts:
Customer
Click Sales, then click Customer Reports and select Export Customer Details, option 239.
Supplier
Click Purchases, then click Supplier Reports and select Export Customer Details, option 339.
Select Customer or Supplier code range and tick all boxes on right menu then clickExport.
Browse to where you want to save the file and amend the file name if required, then click Save.
To export your products and services
Click Stock, then click Products / Services Reporting, and select Export Product Details, option 539.
Select Product code range and tick all boxes on right menu then click Export.
Browse to where you want to save the file and amend the file name if required, then click Save.
You’ve successfully exported your TASBooks data and you’re ready to set up Sage 50 Accounts.
Set up Sage 50 Accounts
Install Sage 50 Accounts
Close all software, then click the link below: [BCB:29:Accounts - latest full download direct:ECB]
This will download automatically to your downloads folder, or click Save.
To begin the installation, locate and double-click SageAccounts_28.0.226.0.exe To view your Downloads folder, pressCtrl + J on your keyboard.
If prompted, click Yes to allow this app to make changes to your device.
Select the I accept the terms of the Licence Agreement check box and click Next.
Click the Standard (recommended) installation type and click Yes, begin installation.
Once complete, the software checks for any updates, if prompted click Install then click Yes, begin installation.
If prompted to restart your computer, make sure you have any work saved, then click Restart now.
If not prompted to restart, to complete the install, click Close, then click Close.
Open Sage 50 Accounts.
In the Add a Company window click Create.
Click Continue then enter your software Serial number, Activation key and Account number. You can find these on your order confirmation email.
Click Next, then to confirm your licence, click OK and click OK.
To create your new company, enter your details, clicking Next on each window.
Once you have entered all your details, in the Summary window click Create.
Enter your manager Password you created during the process then click OK.
Chart of Accounts and nominal records
As you're unable to migrate your existing chart of accounts structure on TASBooks, you may need to make some minor adjustments to the way your accounts are presented and located on your management reports.
You're now ready to import your customers, suppliers and product records. When you create an import file to import data in to your software, we recommend you use our Excel templates. To get these templates:
In Sage 50 Accounts click Help, then click About.
In the Program Details section, click the Program Directory link.
Open the correct template: Customer Record FULL template Supplier Record FULL template
Locate and open the TASBooks customer or supplier CSV file.
NOTE: When you paste the information into the Sage file, you must leave the Sage column heading as if you delete this, the import will fail.

Save and close the file.

In Sage 50 Accounts, click File then click Import.
Click Next, then select Customer records or Supplier records and click Next.
Select the format of the data you're importing, if you've used the template this is Excel worksheet.
If the first row of your data contains headings, select the First row contains headings check box.
Click Browse and locate and select the file to import then click Open.
Click Next. To link the imported data to the correct fields in Sage 50 Accounts, complete the Imported Field column as required, choosing the relevant field from the drop-down list. Compulsory fields are marked with an asterisk, for these you must select an Imported Field.
Once all of the required fields are mapped, click Next, check the summary information is correct, then click Import or Finish.
Open the correct template: Product Record FULL template
Locate and open the TASBooks customer or supplier CSV file.
