ERROR: 'The current user cannot be removed'
Description

If you remove a user who is currently in your company data, you can receive the error message:

'The current user cannot be removed'.

This appears when you try to remove your own username from Active Sessions in User Management. You can't remove the username you're currently logged in as.

NOTE:

 If the software is closing when you remove the user, refer to the Sage 50 Accounts hangs or closes on the opening splash window article.

Resolution

To remove your own username

  • To end your own session in Sage 50 Accounts, go to File, then select Log Out

To remove another user

If the user busy message appears, we recommend contacting the user and asking them to log out of the software and try again.

Alternatively, you can remove a user if you know their password:

  1. Open Sage 50 Accounts and log on as the named user.
  2. To remove the user from the request list, select Yes.
  3. Go to File, then select Exit, to log out.

Can't log in or remove the user?

If the user can't log in, or you're unable to remove them, you must refresh the queue.dta file
