The Transactions module is really important because it displays all customer, supplier, journal and bank transactions entered into your software in one place. This list is referred to as your audit trail and you can use it to check old transactions and report on your business. You can also make transaction corrections from here.
TIP: You can remove fully paid and reconciled transactions from the audit trail. Read more >
Options available in the Transactions window
| Audit Trail report | Generates the Audit Trail report. This report is useful when tracing financial transactions. |
| Accounts audit | To ensure your accounts are accurate, this option helps you to identify potential audit and VAT liability queries. |
| Verification reports | A range of reports to help you ensure that your accounts are accurate and to identify possible errors and anomalies. |
| View | To view the details of a transaction, select the transaction > View. This option shows a read only view of the transaction. |
| Edit | To edit the details of a transaction, select the transaction > Edit. Some of the fields within a transaction are critical fields. This means that if you amend them, the original transaction is deleted and a new transaction is posted. |
| Unallocate | If you have posted a receipt or credit against an invoice in error, you can use the Unallocate option to unlink the transactions. For example, a sales receipt (SR) becomes a payment on account (SA) when it is unallocated, and it can then be allocated against a different invoice. |
| Delete | To delete a transaction, select the transaction then click Delete. Some transactions cannot be deleted and must be reversed, for example, VAT reconciled transactions. |
| Ext. Link | If you use Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Capture, this option becomes active if you select a transaction that has an associated image. To view the image, click Ext. Link. |
| Send to Excel | You can use this option to send your list of transactions to Excel. |
| Reports | Access additional financial reports, such as the Transactional-Based Management report. Reports are displayed and managed using the Report Browser. With the Report Browser you can do more than just print a report, for example you can generate a report to send via email. |
