Remote Data Access (formerly Sage Drive) - what's changed in Sage 50 Accounts v27
Description

In Sage 50 Accounts v27, Sage Drive is now called Remote Data Access but is still known as Sage Drive in Sage 50 Account v26 and below.  With Remote Data Access you're not tied to the office when you want to work on your accounts. You can share a copy of your accounts data securely in the cloud and give users the option to access and update the data from remote locations using the Internet.

NOTE: Remote Data Access (formerly Sage Drive) shares a copy of your data in the cloud. This does not replace your normal data server and the Sage 50 Accounts software must still be installed on each computer that needs to access the data.

TIP: For more information on how to set up Remote Data Access and how it works in Sage 50 Accounts v27, you can view our help guide. Read more >

New location to manage your remote users

Remote Data Access uses the same system as Sage Drive, however instead of managing users in the Management Centre, you can now do this entirely in the software in the new improved User Management settings.

If you have previously been using Sage Drive on Sage 50 Accounts v26 or below, and upgrade to Sage 50 accounts v27, don't worry you can continue to use your data remotely as before. However, to help manage users better, you might be prompted to map your Remote Data Access users to your users in Sage 50 Accounts.

NOTE: If you want, you can skip this step, however we recommend mapping your users as this helps you manage them better.
