Cloud-based software

Sage HR is a cloud-based HR software, so it can be accessed anywhere with an internet connection. So you do not have to be in the office to use it. You can even use the Sage HR app for things such as submitting holiday requests, checking your calendar, or even uploading your expenses attachments straight from your phone.


Assign tasks to colleagues

Creating tasks is a useful communication tool in Sage HR. If something needs doing this can show as a task on another employee’s Sage HR dashboard. When completed the other employee can then mark it as complete, making you aware that the task has been done. Handy to keep track of what needs doing and knowing if a task set has been completed.

Keep track of company assets

You can create an itinerary of your company assets such as laptops, phones, cars etc. You can then assign these assets to certain employees, allowing you to keep track of who has what asset in your company.

Keep track of time off and submit time off requests

In Sage HR it is easy to keep track of your own or your employees’ annual leave, such as holidays or sick leave. You can set what their leave entitlement is, adjust it for each individual if needed, and see how much annual leave you or another employee has left to use. Using Sage HR also provides an easy way to submit and accept holiday requests digitally.

See when colleagues are at work

The calendar shows employees' working and non-working days, in addition, you can see when they will be away on annual leave, or business trips etc. A great tool to check if a colleague is out of the office.

Submit expenses

Use Sage HR to track and submit your expenses. You can even take photos of a receipt and upload it as an attachment as you submit an expense. Expenses approvers can then see these expenses and approve them when necessary.

Keep track of hours worked

Sage HR is a great tool to keep track of hours worked. This becomes very useful when checking whether contracted hours are being met, working out overtime, or see how much time owed in lieu (TOIL) an employee has gained.


You can even enable a clock-in and out feature for your employees to use when they start and finish their shifts. Alternatively, if you already use clock-in software, this can be integrated with Sage HR to track worked hours.

Create a shift timetable that employees can view digitally

Easily create and publish shift patterns for employees. Instead of printing rotas or emailing them out, employees can log into Sage HR to see what their shifts are.

Employees can also enter their availability for shifts, so managers can see the availability of their employees in Sage HR as they schedule shifts. This means no more texting or emailing managers and hoping they remember this information when they create a rota.

File and centralise documents digitally

It can be difficult organising and storing important employee documentation, especially when having to abide by GDPR legislation. Digital documents such as passport information can be uploaded to Sage HR and be assigned to an employee. This means you can get information you need about an employee from their Sage HR profile, as well as easily give access to employees to read and even sign digitally documents online.

You can keep track of your applicants, contact applicants with automated communication based on what stage they are in your recruitment process, as well as create a landing page to advertise a position. This can save you time and money if you are currently outsourcing your recruitment.

You can use the announcements feature to easily share important news with your entire company. You can compose company update posts with an easy editor and interact with each post via emoji reactions and comments.
