ERROR: 'You cannot login at present' when logging in
Description

When you try to log in to Sage 50 Accounts, the following message appears:

An error message in Sage 50 Accounts. It reads: You cannot login at present because someone is in a program area on another machine.

This appears if another user is working in the area identified in the error message. Some areas of the software that requires all other users to log out of the company. For example, when taking a backup or running Check Data. These are exclusive zones.

You can’t log in at present because <> is in <> on machine <>.
Remove this user from the request list?
Warning: Removing users whilst they’re currently working in the program could cause data corruption.
Do you wish to continue?
Cause
Resolution

If a user is working in an exclusive zone

Wait for the user to finish working in the area mentioned in the message, then try to log in again.


If a user isn't working in an exclusive zone

  1. Select Yes, then OK.
  2. Try to log in again.

Issue persisting?

If the message continues to appear after you follow the steps above, you can Refresh the queue.dta file to resolve it.
