NOTE: We have a video about How to create an Azure Active Directory Application for Power Automate. Since this video was recorded Microsoft Azure Active Directory has been renamed to Microsoft Entra ID.

When setting up the custom connector for Power Automate/Power Apps, you will be required to enter a Client ID and secret key. They will both be provided to you once you have created the Microsoft Entra enterprise application.

Log in to the Microsoft Entra admin center using the Microsoft 365 account you used to activate your subscription and link to Sage 200.

Select Identity > Applications > App Registrations, then select New registration.

In this form:

  1. Set a name for the application, for example Sage 200 Application.
  2. Leave the supported account types set to Accounts in the organizational directory only.
  3. Leave the Redirect URI blank. This will be entered later when the custom connector is created.
  4. Click Register.

NOTE: When the application has been registered, you'll see an overview with details of the application.

  5. Copy the Application (client) ID to a notepad file and keep this safe. You’ll need this when the custom connector is created.
  6. Select Certificates & secrets.

    Select New client secrets.

Add a description such as Sage 200 Client Key.

    Set Expires to never.

    Click Add.

Copy the value of the secret key to your notepad file. This will be needed later.

NOTE: You must keep note of this value now. It won’t be available to you if you leave this page and return later.

  7. Select Select API Permissions.

    Click on Add a permission.

Choose the option APIs my organisation uses.

Search for "Sage 200", this will show Sage 200 API.

Select this, then select Delegated permissions.

Tick the box for user_impersonation then Add permissions.

You have now created the Microsoft Entra enterprise application to allow you to set up the custom connector for Power Automate/PowerApps. To find out how to do this, see Sage 200 - Creating a Custom Connector for Microsoft PowerApp or Power Automate.
