Add Pay Now button to an invoice layout
Description

Once you set up Invoice Payments, if you don't want to use the standard Invoice Payments layouts, you can add a Pay Now button to your own invoice layout. This allows your customers to quickly pay you online, by card payment using Stripe, or by PayPal.

Adding a Pay Now button also resets the layout email settings. If you've previously entered your own settings within Report, Email Settings, you should make a note of these now and re-enter them after adding the Pay Now Button.

CAUTION: If you're using Sage 50 Accounts v25.0 or below, follow these steps to add the button. To check your software version click Help then About.

Resolution
  1. On the navigation bar click Invoices and credits, click one of your invoices then click Print.
  2. In the Layouts window click the Layouts folder.
  3. Click the invoice layout you want to amend, then click Edit.
  4. In Sage Report Designer, on the menu bar click Toolbox then click Add Pay Now Button.
NOTE: The format of some layouts prevents you adding the Pay Now button in this way. If the Add Pay Now Button option is missing, add a button manually.

The following objects appear at the bottom of your layout, you can click and drag these as required:
    • PayNowMessage - This displays standard text that provides your customer with more information about the chosen payment method, Opayo (formerly Sage Pay) or Invoice Payments.
    • Pay Now - This is the Pay Now button that your customer clicks to pay you.

TIP: If the footer section is not large enough to fit the Pay Now button, to increase the footer height, click a blank space in the footer then in the Properties pane adjust the Height value.

Standard email settings are also added to your layout in Report, Email Settings.
  5. To save the changes, on the menu bar click File, then click Save.
  6. Click File, then click Exit.

When you email invoices to your customers using your amended layout, they can pay you online using the Pay Now button.

*The format of some layouts may prevent the pay now button from being added using this technique. If the Add Pay Now Button option is missing, you can still add a button using some manual steps.
