Importing your JSON file into Sage Accountant Partner Edition
Description

Partner Edition

To make sure you aren't charged for the remainder of the current month for the client you're migrating, you need to enter a promo code during the import routine. To get your code, please contact your account manager or email [email protected] before you import the data.

Billing information
When you migrate your client, you're agreeing to pay their Accounting subscription on their behalf. Please make sure you've set up your billing information before importing the data.

If you have an existing spare Accounting licence on your Partner Edition and want to replace this with the migrated client, please follow the steps below:
  • Cancel the spare licence from your Partner Edition – please note any data held within the licence will be deleted and unable to be retrieved.
  • Email [email protected] and advise of the name of the licence that has been cancelled, the name/email address of the migrated licence and request any relevant promotional codes (if there was a promotional offer on the licence that has been cancelled) are added to the migrated licence.

Resolution

I do not have an existing Blank Licence in Partner Edition to Migrate into:

  1. Log in to Accounting Partner Edition.
  2. On the Add New Client drop-down menu, click Migrate a Client.
  3. Click Upload JSON file* then browse to where you saved the file earlier.
We recommended you save the file on your desktop.
  4. Check the client's details are correct, select your registration, either Accounting standard or Accounting plus, then click Migrate Client.

The migration starts and you're taken to the Pending tab. If the migration isn't successful, click Download Error File and email our support team at [email protected] for further help.

The client appears with a status of Migrating Business. To check the progress of the migration, hover over the Migrating Business status. Once the validation stage is complete, you can access the client sidebar.
  5. Once the validation stage is complete and whilst the migration is still in progress, browse to the client sidebar and click the Subscriptions tile.
  6. Click Promo Code +, then enter the promo code ADMIGRATED then click Redeem.

Your data continues to import. To update the status, you can refresh your browser. You can continue to use Accounting for other clients, or log out and the client will continue to import.
  7. Once the migration is complete, the client appears in the Active tab. To access their data click the Accounting or Accounting Plus button in the Subscribed Services Column.

You should now check your client's data and settings then once you've checked everything is correct, you can invite your client to access Accounting.

Sage for Accountants:

In order to complete a migration within Sage for Accountants, you must have a Blank Licence setup ready to migrate into – please click here for steps on how to create these licences. This must either be Accounting Standard or Accounting Plus as you cannot migrate into Accounting Start or any Accounting Individual licences.
  1. Log into Sage for Accountants
  2. You can access your Clients Accounting Licence in Sage for Accountants via two methods:
    (a) You can open any of your client's subscriptions from the client list by selecting the name of the product in the same row as the client, i.e. Accounting Standard.
    (b)
Alternatively, you can click on the client’s name, which will open their record. Click into the ‘Products’ tab, and within the Subscriptions Tile, you can select ‘Launch Product’ underneath your Accounting Subscription.
  3. This will load you to the Quick Start Wizard Screen, please select the option for ‘Use Existing Sage 50 data’ and then upload the JSON file for this company.
NOTE: If you are taken to the Summary Screen when you click on your subscribed service, the Quick Start Wizard is no longer available for this company as it has been setup. You can either choose to use another blank licence or call our technical support team to reset this licence for you.
Once the migration is complete, you will receive an email confirming this from [email protected] and you are now able to login into your client’s data. We recommend  checking your client's data and settings then once you've checked everything is correct, you can invite your client to access Accounting.
