Creating a blank licence for your client in preparation for Migration

If you wish to take advantage of any potential Promotional Bundles available for Accounting Licenses, we do recommend you reach out to your Practice Success Manager who can discuss this further with you. If you are unsure as to who your Practice Success Manager is, please email [email protected] and the team will be in touch.  
 
  1. Log in to Accounting Partner Edition
  2. On the right-hand side, select the ‘Add New Client’ option.
  3. Fill in the relevant information regarding your client’s business. Anything with an asterisk (*) is a required field. 
  4. The licence will be created within the ‘Pending’ tab, please select the ‘Subscription+’ to continue.
  5. Please select the required subscription.
     NOTE:  You cannot migrate into Accounting Start. 
  6. Once your client has accepted the invitation to access the data, the licence will move into the ‘Active’ tab, until then it will remain in the ‘Pending’ tab with the subscribed service greyed out.
  7. You can now either access the licence to upload the JSON file to continue with the migration if you are doing this yourself or your licence is ready for the migration team to action the migration for you.  

 

Sage for Accountants 

If you do not have a client folder in the client list for your client, follow these steps first. 

  1. From the client list select Add client.
  2. Choose In a new folder on my client list, then select Next.
  3. Choose a client type.
  4. Fill in the necessary fields for your client. These will differ depending on the client type you've selected.
     NOTE:  A client folder will be added automatically based on the name of your client. You can change this later. You can add other clients to this client folder to keep related clients together. 
  5. Work through the wizard, selecting Next when you've completed each page.
  6. Select Save.  
 
Once you have created a client folder, or if you had a client folder already, follow the below steps: 

  1. From the client list, select the client you want to buy a subscription for. 
  2. Select Manage products from the Products tile. You'll be taken to the Products tab.
  3. Select Manage subscriptions.
  4. Select each subscription to add. Your monthly charges will update in real-time, to show you the impact on your monthly bill.
  5. Select Apply changes once you've finished. Your monthly bill will be updated accordingly.
  6. You can now either access the licence to upload the JSON file to continue with the migration if you are doing this yourself or your licence is ready for the migration team to action the migration for you.
