Sage 200 is part of a global franchise which has a single vision and strategy across fourteen countries worldwide. The strategy has a single focus of delivering product modernisation by harnessing the power of the desktop whilst liberating key data via connected web and mobile services. The strategy allows us to deliver on continuous improvement through a regular release cadence to ensure we are continually adding value to the customer base.

Sage 200 Spring 2018 Enhancements is due for release in April 2018. The release is one in a series of releases to launch Sage 200 in the UK and Ireland. Sage 200 includes Standard and Professional. Sage 200 will introduce a number of connected services through a regular release cadence.

With that in mind Sage 200 has three key themes

  • Connected data
  • Customer experience
  • Simplicity

Sage 200 has been built on direct customer feedback with customers telling us that simplifying their business processes is key whilst improving the user experience to become more productive on a daily basis is what really matters to them.

Highlights include:

  • Making Tax Digital ready – HMRC enter beta in April 2018 ahead of Making Tax Digital (VAT) coming into effect in April 2019.
  • General Data Protection Regulation support. We cannot make our products GDPR compliant, but we are providing reports that will help customers achieve compliance within their business.
  • Hiding redundant nominal and cash book accounts – the most frequently requested item in the Sage 200 Ideas Portal
  • Automatically refreshing list – second only to hiding accounts in popularity on the Sage 200 Ideas Portal

Feature

Hide redundant nominal and cash book accounts

What
  • Mark nominal and cash book accounts to indicate that they cannot be selected by the user during data entry.
  • Drop down account selection lists exclude hidden accounts.
  • Hidden accounts till available for reports (but can be suppressed using filter).
  • Filter account lists to suppress hidden accounts.

Explanation
  • The account selection drop downs filter out accounts marked as hidden.
  • Hidden accounts treated as invalid if entered directly.
  • Non-existent accounts treated as invalid if entered directly.

Benefits
  • Simplify data entry by reducing number of accounts selectable.
  • Save time at period end spent tracking posting errors.
  • Remove the need to have accounts named "DO NOT USE" or similar on reports.

Automatically Refresh List

What
  • Completing a process updates the list associated with the process to include the newly created/amended record or the change of state.
  • Clearly see the last time a list was refreshed and invoke a manual refresh.

Explanation
  • Processes are aware of list most relevant to them and trigger a refresh when they are completed.

Benefits
  • Remove doubts about the success of a process by visually confirming the impact of the process on the list presented.
  • Filter the list to act as a “to do” list and see the items on the list reduce as the tasks are completed.

Convert Quote to Proforma

What
  • Convert a quote to a proforma to collect payment prior to creating a sales order.
  • Track a quote to the associated proforma and the resultant sales order.

Explanation
  • A new process is available to create a proforma from an invoice.
  • New cross references have been added to link quotes, proformas and orders.

  • Save time and avoid errors involved in manually re-keying data.
  • Have Sage 200 reflect your desired business process.
  • Track sales at each stage from quote to order.

Licence warning

What
  • Every user is currently warned every day for 60 days before the licence expires. The licence cannot be renewed until the Business Partner invoices the customer which is usually 30 days before the licence expires. The licence warning is within the top ten on the Ideas Portal and is a regular complaint from both customers and Business Partners.

Explanation
  • We have changed the licence warning to appear from 30 days of the licence expiring.

What
  • Handle Subject Access Requests quickly by correcting, redacting or deleting personal data.
  • Identify redundant customer and supplier records for deletion.

Explanation
  • Reports showing records containing data for a named person.
  • Reports showing customers and suppliers who have not traded for a period of time.

  • Quickly and easily take actions in your accounting data as required by your GDPR approach.

Making Tax Digital ready – HMRC beta

What
  • Register an interest in participating in the HMRC beta scheme relating to submitting VAT Returns under MTD rules.
  • Once accepted into the beta schema, submit VAT Return under the MRT rules.

Explanation
  • Link in the software to register interest in the beta schema.
  • Enable MTD VAT Return submissions.
  • Submit VAT Return under MRD rules.

Benefits
  • Influence the direction of MTD by taking part in the HMRC beta scheme.
  • Be reading early for the MRD deadline of April 2019.
