ERROR: 'Error: 1402: Could not open Key'
Description

When installing your Sage software, the following message can appear:

'Error: 1402: Could not open Key'.

This is due to a problem in the Windows registry.

Cause
Resolution

Check for Windows issues

  1. Press the Windows key + R, enter CMD then click OK.
  2. Type SFC /SCANNOW then press Enter.
  3. Log in to the computer with Windows administrator access.
  4. Try the installation again.

If the problem persists, for further refer to Microsoft help or your local IT support.
