Sage 200 Report Designer - Microsoft Outlook Security Update causes security prompts to appear when sending emails automatically
Description

You then need to click Yes to each email, for example, if emailing 100 invoices you must click Yes 100 times.

This is caused by a Microsoft Outlook update that is designed to prevent security breaches. The update effectively removes the Send e-mails automatically feature from within Format > E-mail and this can't easily be corrected. For further information, please refer to Microsoft article 263084.

NOTE: In Outlook 2000 and 2003 the security update is installed separately, however it is built into Outlook 2007 and above.

As a workaround, you can edit the email settings on the report or layout to save emails to the mailbox rather than sending automatically. The security message does not appear and you can then send the emails from within Outlook.


NOTE: When saving emails to the mailbox, you must then send each email individually which can take just as long as selecting Yes on the Outlook security messages.

TIP: As an alternative, free software is available on the Internet which automatically selects Yes on the Outlook messages. In Google, searching under click yes program lists several options. Do not support Business Partners in downloading or using this software. We can't guarantee that it will work without any issues and the fact that the software selects yes to the Outlook messages regardless of which software is trying to send the email raises security issues. We recommend that where necessary, Business Partners speak to their own IT administrator or that of the customer before installing this type of software.
