Options aren't available to choose from menus or the Tasks panes
Description

There are two main reasons why you're not able to access options from a menu or a Tasks pane:

  • Your user name doesn't have access to the relevant area of the software, for example, new employee
  • You haven't selected an employee to use the option on

However, depending on the option you're trying to access, there may be other reasons you can't access it.

e-Banking or Collector of Taxes

Before you can access the e-Banking or Collector of Taxes options, you must set up e-Banking. 

Nominal Link

Before you can access the Nominal Link option, you must set up your nominal link. 

New Company

You can only set up a new company in if you have a multi-company licence and you log in to an existing company.

Go to Help then About to check how many companies you can set up. This information is in the Licence Information section.
To view the number of company licences you're using, check the Data Information section.

 TIP: Reached your licence limit and need to add another company? Leave your details and we'll be in touch. 

The New Company option is always unavailable in the Demonstration Data company.

Back up, Restore or Recover

You can't create a backup, restore or recover in the Demonstration Data company.

e-Submission options

Check your username has access to e-Submission options. If your username has access to e-Submissions options but they're unavailable, check if you can access them with the Manager username.

If they still aren't available, reinstall the latest version using the Run as administrator option. You can find the update and installation instructions in our download and install Sage 50 Payroll guide.

Some options are unavailable

A username can only access all e-Submission options if it has access to every pay frequency. This is because some e-Submission options contain information relating to all frequencies.

The following options are unavailable to usernames that can't access all pay frequencies:

  • IR Secure Mailbox
  • Employer Payment Summary
  • FPS Viewer
  • Collector Of Taxes
  • e-Banking
