When installing or opening Sage 50 Accounts, this message appears if there's a damaged program file or it's the wrong version:

'The procedure entry point XXXX could not be located in the dynamic link library XXXX.dll'.

Rename the file and reinstall Sage 50 Accounts

1. Note of the dll file shown in the error.

2. If the error shows a folder path to the dll, note the path.

3. To close the error click OK, then close all software.
4. Press the Windows key + E then either:
   
   • Browse to the path you noted in step 2, or
   • If no path is displayed in the error, browse to the folder you're installing into

The default installation path is C:\Program Files\Sage\Accounts.

5. Right-click the dll file noted in step 1, click Rename, and add old to the filename.
6. Reinstall Sage 50 Accounts.

If the issue persists, completely remove the installation of Sage 50 Accounts, install any Windows updates, then reinstall Sage 50 Accounts to a new folder.
