HMRC mandating 2-Factor (2FA) Authentication for Accountants, and Sage software

Information on mandatory 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) on HMRC accounts and submissions in Sage 50 Accounts, Sage 50 Payroll, and Sage 50 P11D.

We've received queries asking whether this will affect Sage software being able to connect to HMRC to complete submissions.

Submissions

This change only affects you logging into HMRC portals using an email address and password.

Sage software uses an Application Programming Interface (API) to connect to HMRC, which isn't affected by this change.

You can continue to submit to HMRC from your software as normal.
